CVS or Home Depot??

LOL…my parents are something else…but, you already know that.

Sooooo…..this morning

DADDY:   Regan, when you go to CVS, can you pick up some toenail clippers?

ME:   Sure…no problem.

MOM:   CVS?  Don’t you mean Home Depot...(giggle, giggle)

DADDY:   You got jokes, huh?

MOM:   You need more than some toenail clippers, you need some hedge cutters. (laughing hysterically)

DADDY:  Hmmmm….don’t get me started.

MOM:   C’mon…what you got?? (chuckling)

DADDY:   Regan, when you go to CVS, pick your Mom up some razors.  Naw, never mind, I’ll order her an electric razor.   Can you order one of those off of Amazon…don’t you have Prime?

MOM:  (silent)

DADDY:   Ha Ha Ha….

MOM:  (silent)

DADDY:  Uh huh…what you say??  I can’t hear you.

MOM:   Shut up Melvin!!

The MRI and the Crooner

You gotta love it when you take your Dad to have a MRI (his 5th) and when he is finished, he wheeled out singing Luther Vandross.

MRI Tech:   Ms. Ford, your Dad is finished.

ME:  Thanks

MRI TECH:  He did really well.

ME:  (smiles)

*** I go into the room…wait for Dad. The MRI Tech wheels him out ***

DADDY:  Babygirl, I was listening to Luther!
(hands raised like he is about to croon)

ME:   Really? (smiling hard)

DADDY: Yeah…Luther Vandross.  I love me some Luther!
(makes the iconic do do do do doooo Luther sound)

DADDY: (singing, while being wheeled to the dressing room)
“A chair is still a chair, even when there’s no one sittin’ there
But a chair is not a house and a house is not a home….”

I love how this Man has taught me to find joy during harsh moments

Super WHO?

Watching Super Bowl Half Time Show.

Mom wakes up (yes, the Philly Girl was knocked out)….anndddd

MOM: Prince?

ME:  No, Mom…a projection of Prince. (Justin is singing and playing the piano)

MOM:  Who is that singing? I thought Justin Timberlake was doing the half time show?

ME:  That IS Justin Timberlake

MOM:  (puzzled look) I thought Justin Timberlake was white

ME:  He IS

MOM:   Ummmm… that boy singing is not white!!!

ME:   Go back to sleep
