So, this morning my Mom watched the Jesse Williams speech. She LOVED it!!
(For those that do not know…my Mom was a “first black” in many things politically, educationally, etc…breaking down walls, crashing through ceilings, etc.)
Empowerment, growth and justice embodies her. So, she was HYPED after watching.
Mom: Oh yes….I hope these young people listen, hear and do something.
Me: I agree…I have watched his speech over and over.
Mom: I have to listen to that again.
Me. I agree
Mom: Shoot….maybe I can get with the Black Panthers…well….
Me: (waiting)
Mom: I think I would be more like a Gray Panther now…
